Reginald Sibley's Background

Reginald Sibley's Experience

Senior Network Engineer at Hilton Worldwide

August 2009 - December 2012 | Memphis

As senior network engineer, I was the senior engineer and Liaison between Hilton Worldwide and AT&T during the standardization of 3500 Hilton Hotel High speed wireless Internet Access (HISA) Project. My day to day activities included Hotel site surveys; Circuit provisioning, Router configuration standardization, Project management, Equipment management, and centralization of customer support. I have deployed CISCO CATALYST 3560 at the premise of the hotels 1.1 to the centralized location for network monitoring using a series CISCO CATALYST 6500's and F5 Load balancers. All these networks included using Cisco Technologies such as IOS, ACLs and Firewall services modules.

Test Pilot/Systems Engineer at Aircell

June 2007 - August 2009 | Aurora

As a Lear Captain I flew missions for Providers of piloted aircraft for use in Airborne Wireless Internet access, offering high-speed data (HSD) performance in the air, using Cisco, F5 and proprietary technologies such as Catalyst switches using firewall services modules. I deployed Access List to secure and monitor airborne internet as per Department of homeland security and FAA regulation I provided testing and network analysis on the implementation of the first true broadband network with wings, providing coverage on select partnering airlines across the continental United States at speeds similar to what you'd find on the ground. Aircell's broadband service provides business, government, military and other aviation operators with a whole new level of cabin communications capability.

SR. NETWORK/TELECOM ENGINEER at AMERANTH WIRELESS

January 2004 - May 2007 | San Diego

My primary role at Ameranth Wireless has been to design, build, secure and Using F5 Load balancers manage a fault tolerant network that provided hospitality and hotel reservation systems to over 5300 Holiday inn hotels and Disney Resorts worldwide. I coordinated with developers to integrate applications into an ASP environment. Completion of this project did not require any technical outsourcing of services. I was responsible for the documentation and configuration of all devices, to which Ameranth estimates saved the Company over $650,000 Annually.

SR. NETWORK ENGINEER/OPERATIONS MANAGER at Rivio

August 2000 - November 2001 | San Jose

Using Microsoft, UNIX, Linux, Cisco, and Checkpoint technologies, I designed, implemented a redundant multi-homed network with no central point of failure. This network provided an application service for Bank of America and their banking network. Providing secure 24 hour service availability. I accomplished this by Working closely with software developers, web designers and software engineers. My engineering day to day task consisted of network circuit provisioning, router configuration, and 7/24 network monitoring. Firewall policy and management, load balancer implementation with web traffic delivery, network upgrades and planned downtime management. Management task would include team project planning, 24 hour engineering staff availability and deployment based upon emergency documented procedures. Supervised new partner integrations, equipment cost analysis, software/hardware licensing, co-location and fail over site implementation and deployment.

SR. NETWORK ENGINEER at Airfiber

September 1998 - July 2000 | San Diego

As a Senior Network Engineer for Airfiber, I was placed into a laboratory environment in order to develop, test and integrate their technology using Cisco routers, firewalls and Sonoma Devices. Airfiber's technology provided last mile high-speed data solutions by providing an aerial fiber ring that provided wireless laser-optic network connectivity. I designed a network simulating a Central Office (CO) or service provider using the Airfiber nodes, T-1 Clocking devices and Routing Devices. I simulated the end user and transported data at speeds of 622 MBS (OC-3) per second at distances up to 175 feet using laser optics. The end services consisted of web content, video streaming and telecom services. Combining my networking expertise with the laser optic engineers, allowed my success at completing one of the first known VOIP call over an OC-3 Connection without a physical connection. This project was completed without any additional network staff or resources. I was then responsible for the documentation of deployment procedures, disaster preparedness, and acceptance test planning.

NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR at INFLOW - San Diego, CA

March 1997 - August 1998 | San Diego

I was part of a start-up organization entering the market of providing ISP/ASP co-location services. This provided me the opportunity to take part in the design and deployment of network operation centers (NOCS) which included the provisioning of telecom and network circuits at the OC-12 levels of data transmission. I would tributary T-1 or Ethernet connections to end users based upon their individual needs. Providing connectivity at these levels allowed our department to create other revenue producing services. I was submerged in technology and trained in various hardware and software infrastructures. During our deployment of 15 data centers throughout the united states and Asia, our teams engineering staff was contracted to provide managed services and network consulting services to Disney during the planning and construction of Disney's California adventure.
